Installing Handheld Contact in a Act! shared database enviroment

Installing Handheld Contact on the server that host the Act! database files
Problem: When installing Handheld Contact on a Windows Server that is hosting the Act! database files you might have to add a windows account with full access to the Act! shared folder. Because this is a server and is sharing the Act! database on the network only windows accounts that have been granted access to this shared folder will be able to access the Act! database files. are share thus meaning if the login you are trying to connect to this share with does not have access you will not be able to communicate with it.
Solution: When you are adding the Act! database to the Handheld Contact application be sure to check the directory path is correct, if the database files are store locally then the directory path Handheld Contact is going to should be local as well.
Installing Handheld Contact on a workstation that is a member of a domain and accessing the Act! database files on a shared network resource
Problem: When installing Handheld Contact on a workstation that accesses the Act! database on the network you might receive a syncing error because the login account the HHC7Service is using to connect to that network share does not have full Read/Right Permissions.
Solution: Because the Act! database files are being shared to network users the Handheld Contact Service (HHC7Service) will try using the local System account and will most likely not be granted access to the network shared files. In this case you will need to change the windows account Handheld Contact Service (HHC7Service) is using. To do this open the window control panel, then open Administrative Tools, then open Services, look for "HHC7Service" right click on it and select Properties then select the Log On tab at the top change the setting "Log On As:" to the option "This Account" the choose Browse, when the select a user window is opened choose "Advanced" then change the "Location" to the Domain and hit "Find Now" when the search has completed choose an Domain account that has full rights to that Act! share and you have the password for, add that user and enter the password and hit "OK". If you entered the correct password you will receive the following message "The account YOURDOMAIN\USERACCOUNT has been granted the Log On As A Service right." you must stop the HHC7Service and Start it again to apply these changes.
